beautiful winter

It doesn't snow in Texas.  Since I've lived here, it only snowed the first winter which was two years ago. We get a bit icy but otherwise winter isn't much.  I don't mind it though.  So that explains why my winter layers are significantly less than a lot of you wonderful blogging friends :)

Pants: American Apparel; Tank: H&M; Cardigan: CottonOn; Scarf: DIY; Earrings: Target; Shoes: Charlotte Russe
I made this scarf using the thickest crochet needle I could find at the store and 3 skeins of yarn.  I wore it for this picture then gifted it for my best friend :)

Hope you all have a blessed week,
lyd ♥

Guess who is back!

Back from the 90's that is.
Shoes: R2; Leggings: American Apparel; Scarf: Fair Trade local boutique; Jacket: thrifted; Flannel: gift; Necklaces: Sam Moon & thrifted

I have a lot of promises to this little blog.... therefore a lot of broken promises.  "Blog for yourself," I'm reminding myself. So, my blogging prime, so to speak, was a couple of years ago.  Well, I'm ready to make the change.  When has blogging brought me down? Nevvvvaaaaaarrrrr.

My readers, my friends, my blogs I stalk/drool over - blogging has never felt so good.

I love you forever!

songs and such

I've played the acoustic guitar for about eight years.  I don't play as much as I used to, unfortunately the business of going to college a few years ago made me stop playing as much.  The other day while cleaning my computer, I found a folder full of recordings of songs I have written.  It bugs me that I can't even remember the music I wrote off the top of my head, so I've been listening to them, writing the lyrics and the tabs.
Shoes: Texas Junk Company; Socks: Nordstrom; Dress: Goodwill; Blouse: Santee Alley; Earrings: Charlotte Russe; Bracelets: various DIY

Every song I've written, I can remember the event that inspired it, the feelings I felt that I wanted to get out.  Listening to them is a trip down memory lane, the good and the bad.
In this look I tried out a new hairstyle that I watched on a tutorial from the wonderful wendyslookbook.  It was super easy, and held up decently being that I took these pictures about 8 hours after fixing the style.  Try it!

Love always,

Channeling my inner Lana

Obsessed with Lana Del Rey- one of my new style icons.  I made this flower headband inspired by the cover of her Video Games single.
After wearing this one, I wanted something bigger... the next post I'll show off my other DIY crown + pictures from my trip to Los Angeles!
Shoes: Forever 21; Skirt: Cotton On; Shirt: Forever 21; Headband: DIY; Purse: Sam Moon

These pictures were taken in downtown Austin outside of the Habitat for Humanity ReStore.  The ReStore is a great place to get cheap building and housing materials.  I got some awesome shutter style doors that I will be using as a headboard in my new apartment.

Much love to all of y'all!
