TxSCC

Y'all, it is official, I am the royal princess of clammy hands.

I went to some of the events for the Texas Style Council Conference this weekend in Austin, TX as a "baby blogger" (self proclaimed, just because more than once I had no idea what was going on within the blogger lingo.)
Friday night there was a clothing swap hosted by Swap.com and The Swapaholics that my awesome, older sister accompanied me to.

Me on little to no sleep after swapping... With a frikin' ton of crap (really awesome, awesome crap.)
I learned a lot from this conference, I heard and met a lot of extremely informative people with incredible advice about how to start my blog and evolve from my formal fashion postin' life on Chictopia.

Okay, so the severe clammy hands incident happened when I spotted Diya.  Evidently my hands like to do this new thing where whenever I'm feeling a wee bit anxious they start sweating profusely.
Diya is one of my biggest inspirations, she is an amazing blogger while also a chemical engineering student.  I am studying engineering at a medium sized university and people don't get why I want to dress the way I do, fashion blog, make clothes AND be an engineer.  It makes sense to me, and people like Diya motivate me to be what I really want to be.
So, when I saw her, I sat and plotted a speech to let her know how awesome I think she is and just say hi.  I bee lined up to her when there was a break and began my flutter of words I don't remember, then panicked because I realized I hadn't even introduced myself by name, and then she shook my clammy hand.
How embarrassing, but I was (and still am...) too excited not to share.

One awesome panel with bloggers Jen, Indiana, & James.
Before going straight back to university, I asked my wonderful brother to take some pictures...
cardigan: Charlotte Russe, shoes: R2 from DSW, socks: Nordstrom Rack, shorts: Calvin Klein thrifted, top: thrifted, watch: gift from boyfriend, belt: thrifted, purse: thrifted

I had a great, educational, encouraging time at the conference.  I met a lot of helpful people and am feeling even more motivated to continue on with getting this blog on the road!

ps. there should be an awesome tab on how many awesome times I claimed things were "awesome" in this post
Love <3
