Its not thanksgiving

But I'm about to hit y'all with some confessions of gratefulness.

Ever since I started my first outfit posts, a lot of good things have come to me from blogging.  I know a lot of you have similar stories, and I think it is awesome that we get to share such a fun thing together!
There are so many of you who have supported me whether it be sweet messages, compliments, tweets or sharing your own stories.  I am so thankful.  I wish I could hang out with y'all and just be crazy fashion lovers together.
Okay, yes, I say this type of thing a lot, but I seriously get some sort of high thinking of the day I will hopefully get to meet some of you face to face!

Shoes: R2; Shorts: thrifted DIY; Top=romper: chic swap; Necklace: made by me; Vest: Qi Cashmere

You all make me want to keep trying.  And without you all, I wouldn't have it in me to do this blog, chictopia, feel a stronger drive to pursue a future in technology with fashion, create my own etsy store, or the most significant change, wear heels like it ain't no thang!!

Awkward walk, you'd think I'd have some good poses by now.

So this is a thank you for the chance to redeem this awesome, fringe vest from Qi Cashmere on chictopia.  Hard work pays off ;) not that this is work, this is way too fun.

You can buy this necklace on my Etsy Store! If you're international & interested, we can work somethin' out.

Thanks for the support, and don't give up, even if you face plant in the Target parking lot in your ridiculous high heeled shoes (no, I didn't do this the other day in front of my boyfriend.)
loveeeeeee you!!

Gem Stone Gretel

It's been a long time, long time, shouldn't have left you, left you... Aaliyah accidentally starts this post off.

Okay, a few weeks ago, one of the banner ad's on my chictopia sent me to something beautiful.
A beautiful website called Solestruck full of artistic shoes of wonder all in a price range completely foreign to me.  I was captivated by Haus of Price shoes.  However, stuck in a bad place because I can't afford them.
But I can afford spray paint, rhinestones and glue.  So we got this! We got it good!

Shoes: DIY by me; Shorts: thrifted; Blouse: Forever 21; Vest: Forever 21; Sunglasses: Charming Charlie; Hair extension: Ulta

So with a few hours of sprayin, gluin, oohin, and ahhin, I made these babies out of an old pair of shoes I never wear anymore.  They've lost a few gems since their original construction, but its like I just leave a trail of rhinestones whenever I wear them.

"Where's Lydia?"
"Follow the trail of colorful, sparkly rhinestones, you'll find her."

Gem stone Gretel is here to stay, now I just need to bedazzle my brother's shoes, there will be a gem stone Hansel and we'll be set. ;)

love yall, so happy to post and check your posts again xoxoox lydee

cloudy with a chance of leggings

Ready for a few things out of this world?
I'm talking cloud leggings. (50% off y'all!) and all other things cosmic.

Leggings: American Apparel; Shirt: thrifted; Cardigan: American Apparel; Bag: thrifted; Shoes: Forever 21
Watch: gift from boyfriend; Rose Bracelet: My etsy store; Leather band: Pandora; Pink & Turquoise: Mexico

I've been seeing this trend around on the internet, clicking and dragging pictures to my desktop like it's my job.  This search of cosmic clothing led to lots of drooling over Christopher Kane's amazing talent.

PS. Thinking of stars makes me think of Star Wars which makes me think of one of my all time favorite characters ever in Star Wars (Ewoks will always be my very, very, very favorite.), Yareal Poof, one of the background alien jedi in episode 2 I think?

See the resemblance? Or I am having wishful thinking?

MAXImum use

Not too long ago I got one of the best additions to my closet in a while: a maxi skirt.
I am convinced everyone needs a skirt like this! I got it from Strut on South Congress in Austin.  I just checked their website and I don't see it listed :( :( sad sad sad!  However, the reason I recommend this skirt is because it feels so dreamy, seriously, I wore it once just to take a nap because it was the most desirable blanket choice.
(Checked the tag: 95% rayon, 5% spandex, 100% dreamy, 100% comfy, 100% worth your time.)

Skirt: Strut; Top: Express; Belt: Antonio Melani; Earrings: gift from my bff's Amber & Chelsea; Bag: thrifted

And this certainly isn't the first time I've worn this, here are a couple of other ways I styled the skirt, with less fabulous photography.

Okay, confession, the first picture is of me in the Strut dressing room debating with myself if I should buy it.  I didn't buy that top because it was a wee bit too big and inconvenient to wear.  Everything else is all my own though.
Now I'm off to find other MAXI options, my new fave.  Any suggestions?  Particularly anything in the same fabric family?  I'm obsessed...

love yall
