yall are in sweaters. im still in shorts.

Texas is a hot place, y'all.  It has been in the high nineties the past few days and it feels heavenly compared to the usual 105+ degree heat.
Girls on campus are even breaking out the autumn clothes because everyone thinks we are in some sort of cold front.  It is still hot though, just not quite AS hot.
Blazer: H&M; Shorts: thrifted DIY; Shoes: R2; Blouse: thrifted; Necklace: thrifted; Flower Bracelet: similar on my Etsy.; Polymer clay bracelet: DIY; Two Tone Bracelet: fair trade from Guatamala

Seeing all my blogger friends around the world getting out their rainy day wear and cold weather cozy clothes reminds me about how big the world is! :)  So many different people, so many different places.  I hope one day I'll get to explore a few.
Love you,
Lydee

my everyday makeup + i love you

Since I've been blogging I sometimes get asked questions about my preferences on stores, makeup, hair, brands, ice cream... etc.
(Just kidding about ice cream but if you are curious my favorite is chocolate fudge brownie from Ben & Jerrys <3 )
Shorts: DIY you can do it too; Belt: thrifted; Top: actually a dress from H&M; Necklace: thrifted; Bracelets: made by me
Anyway, most of my life since school has started back has been just studying.  I decided I'd take a break and tackle one of the categories.  Makeup.  I usually get asked about my favorite makeup but I've decided to just post the products that I generally use every day.  So here are my every day products, I'd be happy to answer any questions you have about them if any of you have been considering purchasing them.  And if you have any suggestions of stuff I should try I'd be delighted to know :)

Mascara: Lash Blast Covergirl in black
Eyeliner: Urban Decay 24/7 in Zero
Eyeshadow: Too Faced Natural Eye Palette
Lipstick: Mac Blankety
Foundation: Neutrogena SkinClearing
Blush: Covergirl
Bronzer: Revlon ColorStay
Lipgloss: smashbox (sheer berry or shimmery fuschia? not sure on the color name)

Do any of you girls use a face primer?  I used a Loreal one but it started to break me out.  I've been looking for one to try.  I have smashbox face primer but I'm not the biggest fan, I feel like it leaves my skin too oily. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

I hope y'all are having a great week, and if you're not then I'm hoping it gets better for you! Love always,
lydee

a glimpse of fashion+technology

Shorts: DIY; Vest: Qi Cashmere; Shoes: gift from boyfriend; Tank: H&M; Necklaces: Charming Charlie, thrift stores
Dorm room + self timer = finally a new blog post.
Whats been up?
Well I've been working on quite a few DIYs lately and am hoping to post a couple of more tutorials in the next month.
I've been ultra, mega, antisocial, busy with school since I've been back.  Maybe I should do a tutorial on how to program LEDs in different ways?! (Now that I've learned to do it in C and also xilinx.) (Nerd reference.) (I was just kidding!) (Stopping with parenthesis now.)
But for those actually interested in intertwining technology and fashion I am working on making some custom LED pumps.  So far, just in the planning stage.  And for those that aren't sure what the heck I'm talking about when it comes to technology and fashion, check out this video thats an interview with Diana Eng (my biggest inspiration!)
love, lydia :)

alive and lovin.

Hiiiii everyone!!! I am so sad I haven't been blogging in WEEKS, it feels like forever. I'm sorry that I haven't commented people in a while... I am excited to check your posts :)

School started back up about 2 weeks ago and it has been brutal.  I'm taking a 17 hour schedule that includes 2 labs.  There are a lot of equations to be solved, circuits to be built, and less time for blogging. Waaah wahhh :(

Shoes: Steve Madden; Skirt: by me; Shirt: Target; Purse: H&M; Belt: American Apparel
Hey girl hey to a 3 day weekend!  Living.The.Life.  However, I feel like professors piled on enough work for me to do to ensure limited happy happy fun time.  I did get to go to my college's football game on Friday though, which was wild.

It is really windy in central Texas today, the picture above is what 97% of the pictures I took actually looked like.  I made this skirt (dress) a few years ago, last seen here.

love you all, thankful you all stayed checking on me :) yall are awesome, forreal!
